Syracuse Faculty Receive NSF Grant for Smart Energy Research

The National Science Foundation has awarded a Smart & Connected Communities grant of $99,965 to three faculty members of Syracuse University: iSchool Professor Jason Dedrick, as well as School of Architecture Assistant Professors Elizabeth Krietemeyer and Tarek Rakha. This award will support a collaborative project to study the possible use of a community energy project in Austin, Texas and create the necessary resources for a program that can be used as a model for other community within the U.S. The University will take advantage of NYSERNet’s R&E network.
