Stony Brook scientists study rules of evolution

Stony Brook University researchers are collaborating with Oklahoma State University to study the evolution of crocodiles and their relatives. The team is using digital imaging techniques to analyze fossil records and build models of the ancient crocodiles’ brains and bodies. Through assessment of patterns in how the crocodiles adjusted to changes in their environment, the scientists hope to gain a better generalized understanding of how all animals adapt and evolve.
