NYU scientists study how plants use nitrogen

A team led by NYU researchers have released a study that could lead to new ways to grow crops that would benefit both people and the environment. The scientists’ focus on how plants interact with nitrogen fertilizer on a genetic level has resulted in a better understanding of how they intake nitrogen and convert it into other compounds. These findings are expected to assist in creating more efficient farming processes that are less impactful on the environment.

The researchers were able to collaborate with team members from other institutions using NYSERNet’s R&E network.
