NYSERNet Projects - Current Projects
NYSERNet has been an active participant in Internet2's HOPI project since its inception as a member of the design team, and as a host site for one of the HOPI nodes. The project is investigating the potential of combined packet and circuit switched networks, using facilities from Internet2 and a number of regional optical networks. The New York City HOPI node is housed at NYSERNet's 32 Avenue of the Americas colocation site. The NYSERNet optical transport network and NYC dark fiber network enable connections to HOPI for researchers throughout the state.
